Short Past-Life Story: The Power of Love

Aaron: I’m thinking of a situation in which, not as Aaron but in a very different lifetime. The man I was, fought in a battle with others, our acknowledged enemies, and I had been taught to see them as demons. We were walking through very rough territory, perhaps, I think of Afghanistan and the way the mountains are there, although that was not the real place. We walked through rough territory at night. I fell into a hole and broke my leg. I told my comrades to go on. It was clear to me my life was forsaken, that there was no way they could carry me out.

I had with me some small written text, put in a little metal vial on a chain close to my heart, from my mother, telling me how much she loved me, and words of faith. I opened it and was thinking of her, and trying to bring my attention away from my fear and to that love, when an enemy soldier appeared with his sword drawn, and he saw me there. He came toward me, and then he stopped, seeing me holding this vial and paper, not a weapon. He said, “What are you doing?” I said, “My leg is broken. I know I will die. I am holding this precious message from my mother.” And he broke into a huge smile. He said to me, “I have a similar message.” What held it was different, but he pulled out also a message from his mother, from a container on a chain close to his heart. We sat on the ground and talked about our mothers.

We sat there until day broke. Most of the fighting took place at night. He bound my leg. He had me place my arms around his neck and he half-carried me. I used one foot to push myself off as best I could and he carried me. He carried me close to where our people were. He had me shout for help, and someone answered me. And then he laid me on the ground. They came to get me and brought me to safety. The leg of course was set and healed.

This is the power of love. This is what all of these people (speaking of the Middle East where Q has been working) may find during mortal combat with each other, when they can open to the love that lies close to their heart. It shifts everything. This is what you are teaching. It will spread and spread and spread.
